Hi folks. I missed one on the schedule this week. Check out Drifting Through at The Attic in Greenville on Friday the 29th. Sorry for the error.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Furthur-After event last Thursday in Greensboro. It was great to see so many friends out again and to re-introduce everyone to the new Folkswaggin' lineup.

Speaking of good times and Folkswaggin', don't forget about the 3rd Annual Hookland Extravaganza this weekend in Snow Camp. It's a great band lineup including The Ordinary Way, Folkswaggin', Sproing, glue, David Via & Corn Tornado and more. Here is the number for directions and info: 336-376-0874. You can also check their webpage: http://www.lonelygoat.com/hookland.htm. Be sure to stop by the Lonely Goat Lounge while you are there and say hi.

The Recipe released a new CD called GOEDE and they are all over North Carolina this week. Wednesday, September 27 at 1:00pm The Recipe will be playing a special in-store event at RECORD EXCHANGE in Raleigh, NC at the Mission Valley Shopping Center and Wednesday's show at The Brewery will be broadcasted LIVE at www.digitalclubnetwork.com. Be sure to catch The Recipe as they cruise through. They are well worth your time and energy...cause your gonna dance like a mad fool!

Greensboro's Life Trip is now hosting an acoustic open mic jam on Wednesdays at Club Orion which is also in Greensboro.

I was suprised to learn that I did not already have Chapel Hill's Memphis in the band links. They are there now. Check them out at http://angelfire.com/memphistheband.

I've posted September content on the Lonely Goat site including seven new articles and the cover art for the Lonely Goat Occassional which comes out in print this week. Stop by and feed your head. Thanks again to the wonderful Lonely Goat contributors for some outstanding submissions. Be sure to check out the updated What's Happening? page for the new 'Festivals in North Carolina' listings which may hold a few suprises for you.

Important news from Joel at the WQFSJam. Joel's radio show, which has been a favorite in the Greensboro scene, has been cancelled by the Guilford College station management. Have no fear, however. Joel has been posting archives of his show in Real Audio on the web for some time. Due to the recent termination of the radio broadcasts, Joel will be focusing on the web distribution. He has a new website called JamLive.org and he will continue to produce his weekly show for distribution through the site. The plus side to all of this is that Joel has a little more freedom in this format than on the air. I'm not sure if the new site is up yet, but until then you can get all of the news at http://www.wqfsjam.net. Best of luck to Joel and thanks for playing all the kind music.

I've posted a new link in the resources section of the Lonely Goat links page. Check out The Vermont Review at http://members.tripod.com/vermontreview.

The Southern Lights <http://www.southernlights.cjb.net/> sent me an update on their activities. They have recently relocated from Boone to Asheville and are working with a new management company called 'Earth Sound Productions (ESP).' ESP also books for the Lazybirds, the Ruesters, and Waterbird from the Boone and Asheville area. You can reach ESP at 828-274-8263. Best of luck to The Southern Lights in their new pursuits. They have some dates posted in the Jambase for late October and early November. Be sure to check them out.

I'm going to skip the lyric this week due to space. What does everyone think about this feature? Any suggestions for lyric features are more than welcome so send them in and I'll post the sender with the lyric in the email.

There are a slew of bands hitting North Carolina late this month. Check out full listings at the Jambase and catch some tremendous acts from around the country. Let's support these folks as they tour through NC. Oh yeah, don't forget about the Furthur-After show in Greensboro tomorrow nite after the Furthur show. Folkswaggin' will start at 11 PM. There's more information at the Lonely Goat site. I'll see you there.

The big news this week is the announcement of the Lonely Goat Futhur-After event in Greensboro on September 21. Come by after The Other Ones and Ziggy Marley and wind down before hitting the road home. The Blind Tiger <http://www.theblindtiger.com> is the place and it is just a few blocks from the Greensboro Coliseum. Greensboro's homegrown favorite FOLKSWAGGIN' is the featured band and they'll make you want to stay all nite...stay a little longer...dance all nite...dance a little longer...take off your coat and throw it in the corner...don't see why you won't stay a little longer......you get the idea. <http://www.lonelygoat.com/lonelygoat/furthurafter.htm>

If that's not enough hype, how about a Folkswaggin' lyric from waaaay back:

'and when the water falls we all become one.
if it wasn't for a little rain,
we couldn't celebrate the sun.'

Folkswaggin' from the 1997 studio release 'Psychefolkadelic' <http://www.folkswaggin.com>

Wilmington's Ergot is now available on the web. They've recently established a new presence at http://www.ergotmusic.com. I'm glad to have access to their dates finally and you'll find them here regularly now.

Be sure to review the dates carefully this week. I added a lot this evening and Dennis may not have had them to highlight in his Jambase posting. Thanks to Dennis as usual for the continued Jambase features. I find them very helpful to supplement all the listings...listings...listings.

I hope everyone had a restful and inspirational Labor Day weekend. I know I enjoyed my time 'Dancin' in the Moonlight' at Hookahville where everyone there was out of site. By the way, ekoostik hookah has just added a NC date. Check em out at The Brewery in Raleigh on Friday the 13th of October.

This weeks lyric is in honor of returning to NC:

'Sunlight falls on the place where you live,
feels like home, some place familiar.'

Acoustic Syndicate from 'Sunlight Falls' which will be featured on their new CD due out in the next few weeks.

There's not much news to report this week, but lots of good music to feed your head. If you feel like a drive, be sure to check out THE RECIPE FAMILY COOKOUT in West Virginia on the Cheat River <http://www.walther-productions.com>.
