December 2001 Goat Notes

12.14.01
This week's Goatee has dates through New Year's Eve! There is plenty of stuff to do close to home if you are not hitting one of the bigger shows out of state so check out the dates section.

David Via and Corn Tornado have been a favorite bluegrass act for a few years now in NC circles. This month they are reviewed in BLUEGRASS UNLIMITED. Pick up a copy at your best neighborhood magazine stand if you get the chance. The text of the article is available on the DVCT website at: http://www.lonelygoat.com/davidvia/press/bu_0112.htm. The band has a couple of shows in NC this weekend including first time appearances at The Pourhouse in Raleigh on Friday and Greene Street in Greensboro on Saturday. Catch 'em while you can folks.<http://www.davidvia.com>

The Lonely Goat website is finally operational and current again. I want to apologize again for the poor service lately. This is the first 'disastrous' experience I've had with this hosting company and I hope that they will continue to offer the steady service I have come to expect until this point.

The holiday season is a busy and stressful time. Take an evening for yourself this weekend and catch some live music. Bands are in their pre-Christmas run for the next couple of weeks and then it usually calms down a bit during the holiday until the big NYE shows so take advantage of all of the choices on the schedule right now to boost your vibrations a bit in this hectic season.

I'm please to report that my second attempt at a ticket giveaway has worked out much better. Three folks won a pair of tickets to The Code Talkers featuring Col. Bruce Hampton at Mojo's Restaurant & Spirits in Charlotte this Friday. Many thanks to CraysE Productions for sponsoring the giveaway and hey, this show is well worth the $8 bucks anyway so don't stay home because you missed out on the free pass. You'll miss out on some great music.<http://thecodetalkers.com/>

I've had a lot of problems with the website this week and I want to apologize to anyone who has been trying to check in for updates. Service has been pretty irregular if at all, but I hope everything at the server level will be fixed by tomorrow. Until then, I can't update the page on the web and it is one the hosting company must have retrieved from October. I am very sorry for the inconvenience folks. This hosting service has gotten progressively worse the past few months and I plan to take measures to prevent any futher decline. Bear with me please.
