Mount Airy southern jam rockers t.h.h.e.
Mood Cultivation Project have been making a real name for themselves lately. In fact
they just landed an opening spot at LJVM in Winston Salem this coming Saturday supporting
none other than Lynyrd Skynyrd. I've already talked with a few folks who have now made
plans to go just to see MCP in a big arena. Could this be a sign of times to come?

Asheville has a new live music venue on the way. THE ORANGE PEEL'S grand opening is going to be Friday, October 25,
2002 and they are putting together a great calendar for the late Fall. Owner's Jack and
Lesley Groetcsh relocated to Asheville after owning and running the Howlin' Wolf in
New Orlean's for twelve years and they are bringing some of the ideas from that venture to
the new project. Dubbed a 'social aid & pleasure club,' the venue will also serve as a
community center for cultural arts and events in Asheville. Check out their web site at: www.theorangepeel.net for lots
more information.

"the dynamic fusion of funk, jazz, high-spirited soul, rock & roll and all of the
peculiar places in between."

The Chicago area jam-rock band GROOVATRON
will be making a Southeast run through NC, SC, GA, and TN in late September and early
October. Their press release says, " If Frank Zappa, Phish, and moe. had an orgy at a
'70s funk party, the result would be a six headed beast called Groovatron." That
should peak any jam fan's interest and there are plenty of opportunities to catch them
fairly close to where ever you are.
